We help orphaned and vulnerable youth transition into adulthood.

Every day, older orphans age out of care and face challenges such as homelessness, inadequate support networks, substance abuse, rejection from society, and a difficult job market.

Daraja la Amani means “Bridge of Peace” in Swahili

To bridge the gap between orphan care and independent living, we provide a strong support network for young adults as they transition into adulthood and navigate the challenges of life

Who we serve

Youth ages 18 and above who have resided in children’s institutions, alternative orphan care arrangements, or come from vulnerable situations and are transitioning into adulthood. We are located in Naivasha, Kenya, and serve the youth who reside within Naivasha and surrounding areas.

How We Help

Youth who participate in the program have the opportunity to attend support groups, one-on-one mentorship, life skills workshops, job readiness workshops, entrepreneurship workshops, personal finance sessions, social gatherings, and more.

We also partner with local children’s institutions to provide life skills and leadership workshops for teens approaching adulthood.

We collaborate with other organizations both locally and internationally because we believe in working together for the common good.

Words from Daraja la Amani Youth

“Before support group, I did not know how to manage my stress or who to talk to when things were tough. I have learned how to express myself through talking to others, my strengths, and my career path. After taking a business course with Daraja, I learned that business is not just about giving and receiving and not only about making money for today. I really want to seek God. He has given me favors and opportunities. I want to know Him better through Bible studies and prayer groups.”

Words from Daraja la Amani Mentor

“I had always wanted to volunteer in a community based organization, so when I got the chance to volunteer as a mentor, I took it. I went through the mentorship training to prepare me for the journey ahead. What I didn’t realize was that becoming a mentor was going to change me first because I couldn’t give from an empty cup. Has it been easy? Absolutely not! But I wouldn’t trade this for anything!!”
